I have not tried the recipe but reading it I noticed that the common salt was off. 1 tablespoon of common salt equals 3 teaspoons. Reading further in the recipe it states to use 1 teaspoon first and and then a 1/2 teaspoon later. Then recipe should read ane 1/2 teaspoon divided, that would correct the sodium numbers, literally cut information technology in half. In saying this I am looking forward to trying this recipe. Thanks for posting information technology.

I made these scallions pancakes the other solar day. My kids and wife loved them...I thought they were adept, but non splendid. This was my showtime time making scallion pancakes, so that may have been a contributing factor. We society them from our local accept-out places all the time, and they are usually a piddling bit more than flaky from them (although non ever perfect from them either): mine was a chip dumbo/doughy. I have to admit, I forgot to castor the oil on the pancakes earlier rolling them, so that may take contributed to the problem. We used evidently soy crusade as the dipping sauce, just a sauce more than like 1 used for dumplings would exist more appropriate. I would definitely make these over again, and would recommend this recipe. If I tin become them a bit more flaky, and if the original writer would add dipping sauce recipe, I would give this v stars/

I'grand making these as I'g writing. Very elementary recipe to to follow. I allowed the dough to rest for a good hour before rolling it out again. I too added a little sesame oil to the canola oil that I brushed the dough with. I made a dipping sauce which consists of soy sauce, rice-wine vinegar, toasted sesame oil, garlic pulverisation, and beloved and saccharide to gustatory modality. Topped with a few scallions information technology's an easy accessory to this recipe.

I liked this recipe, though I felt the pancakes were a wee bit heavy/mashy. I followed the recipe well-nigh exactly equally written--but differences were I let the dough balance for most sixty minutes (needed actress fourth dimension to stop mincing the scallions) and I used less salt. This recipe calls for Way too much salt--1/2 tsp per pancake would be excessive IMO! I only sprinkled a pinch on each ane before rolling. I wasn't entirely certain what was meant by rolling the ringlet into a "deejay"--I think I did it right, just that description makes me wonder. Served them with Trader Joe's Gyozo Dipping Sauce and homemade egg drib soup. This was my first fourth dimension making scallion pancakes, so perhaps I'll effort a couple other recipes and see which I similar the best. Cheers!

i tried this recipe. I constitute the dough heavy and difficult to work I would like to know what consistency of the dough should exist? Mine was a bread dough... Establish it hard to get information technology stretches out bug and thin. I followed the recipe. I did use breadstuff flour. Maybe it was too heavy.

I actually liked these pancakes. They came out very well! Side by side time, I would similar to try a blend of sesame oil and vegetable oil to brush them with.

Made the pancakes tonight and they came out pretty good except that they were too salty even though I cut the salt back to 1 i/2 tsp. My hubby liked information technology as well.We would both like to see a good dipping sauce recipe along with information technology. Thanks!I would make it over again..it was as adept every bit whatsoever eating place pancake.

Wayyyyyyyyyyy too salty. I'yard pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly, only WOAH. I would recommend either not putting any salt in the dough rounds with the green onions, or simply put much less. The actual flavor would have been very expert, simply the table salt was just so overpowering.

Once you form the scroll/rope into a disc, roll information technology out to no more than 1/4" thick, and then fry it. The flavour is fine.

I use to make a stop in Flushing,NY for scallion pancakes every fourth dimension I had to make a run to JFK. Been craving this since I moved to the Half-dozen. This was correct on! Simple and piece of cake!

This is a great add-on to any meal. The simple list of ingredients are easy to put together and cook upward in no fourth dimension.

I tried this for the offset fourth dimension today. The dough was sticky fifty-fifty after I let the dough sit. One time I got some flour on it, it was fine. It rolled out well with only a little contracting. The method of rolling and folding ensures an fifty-fifty distribution of scallion. I didn't find them all that flavorful by themselves but with some sauce, they were first-class.

Would make them much thinner next time. 1/ii inch thick rounds seems awfully thick.

Aside from not being able to get the round shape, mine came out great! Very easy to make.

I added a bit more salt, and used a combination of sesame oil and vegetable oil within. Proficient, will endeavour again.

I really enjoyed these pancakes! Soft, chewy, and yummy - splendid comfort nutrient for mid-calendar week. I recollect the central to soft, pliable dough and pancakes is 1) avoid adding extra flour during kneading (the dough is very sticky at first simply firms upwards after a few min) and two) peradventure reducing the kneading time - I stopped at 6 min b/c I had a nice elastic dough at that point; much longer and information technology may have gotten tough. Also, I am reducing my rating by ane star b/c I think some of the measurements are off in this recipe. I was very glad I had read previous reviews and drastically reduced the common salt - I ended up adding 1/2 tsp to the dough, and sprinkling some on with the scallions during rolling. As written it would take been fashion too salty! I was also puzzled by the specified ane/2 inch final rolling thickness - the pancakes look much thinner in the pictures. I concluded up rolling to about i/4 inch thickness. Overall, I would definitely make these again with the modifications.

Good recipe. I substituted chickpea flour for half the flour and added cumin and sesame seeds. Next fourth dimension I'll use sesame oil to add together to the flavor. I didn't think the salt was also excessive. They were fifty-fifty good cold. Thinking of eating the leftovers for dejeuner with goat cheese.

Very tasty! I couldn't believe how well they came out the showtime time. My boyfriend had a hard time believing I made them myself. On my 2d go, I learned the hard way that yous definitely have to let the dough sit- the longer the better. I'd besides advise getting the h2o as hot every bit possible. Every bit for dipping sauce, I'd suggest Trader Joe'due south Soyaki sauce. It makes for the perfect accompaniment.

My pancakes turned out awesome. Brushed on some sesame oil with the scallions to raise the flavors. I also sprinkled some finishing table salt and used a couple of dipping sauces to further enhance the dish.
